I just thought I would open this thread to see who people credit for helping them get where they are in the game. This could be someone that has shown you the ropes from the very beginning, provided a suggestion, or otherwise just gave you some very good advice. To the self-made player, is there anyone that you believe has suceeded due to your influence?
I'll start off by saying. I consider myself to be Gumppy's protege'. He introduced me to this game about 2 weeks before his reset and gave me all the facts I needed to know.
Before that I was off in a corner playing checkers. lol
Re: Who's your mentor, or Apprentice?
#2Other than the obvious basics, Istalris told me the most but that was about ratios for a turtle shell.
Re: Who's your mentor, or Apprentice?
#4Well, i think that getting attacked by Klizac when i hit 14,000 or so points helped me the most. It taught me to fleetsave, which i needed cause i was stupid about it in the beginning.
Re: Who's your mentor, or Apprentice?
#5I was a pretty much self-made player. I never was mentored but I mentor my alliance members. I got all the information I needed from the forums.
Whenever my fleet gulps down deuterium, it belches DF

Re: Who's your mentor, or Apprentice?
#8Self taught for the most part... Although Spankie did teach me some good tactics he learned from other games. Atlough I'm still learning. Like Sad attacking me for some due today, makes me think he is need to move that big fleet at all times
