Make your mind up.....forum administrator or forum moderator?????

You think you are the first to have posts deleted? You think it is a personal vendetta? I have had bans, posts deleted and by someone not in AZGD....so deal with it and stop moaning ......

.......If you have issues with Admin or a Mod then email Zorg directly........

Ok Dennis... I will not delete this post.. I will leave this to Zorg or weresloth to take action. Yes I deleted your last post on the sameTopic. simply because it is written clearly in the rules...NO discussion on moderators or admin on the forums.. any such complaints are done by e-mail.. This I have already explained to you via a pm with the correct e-mail address...You are 100% mod baiting.

I will lock this post till either of the above can adjudicate.. They can then take action... but you are deliberately breaking the forum rules and know it...

I will also add this addendum. Weresloth posted an application process for forum moderators over a month ago. He has been an active forum moderator for years here in Zorg. The application process was open to anyone that had a minimum of conditions to be met. At that time anyone could have applied that met those conditions. If one did not apply at that time then I think it is a bit inappropriate to scream unfair now.

As a new moderator myself, I try to keep a solid separation between game play and forum use. When posting or making decisions as a moderator I will make EVERY effort to be completely neutral and apply the rules equally to all forum users. I will be kind and non-insulting in how I relate to everyone. If there are any personal questions, I would be glad to address them in PMs.

Thanks very much.

First off, I'm opening this topic back up for civil discussion.

I'd like to state that I had applications for the moderator position open for about a week. In that time I received around five applications in the forums and a few in-game. Originally I was only going to appoint one mod, however, both Mightyoz and DrLot wowed me with their applications so I accepted both. At the time I wasn't in AZGD, and if we want to bring alliances into this, I only received 1 application from someone in MOC and they sent it around a month after I closed applications.

When I did join AZGD, I received a couple, i.e. 2 PMs stating concerns that all the mods are in the same alliance. Well, there are five mods. Joshanddrew is dealing with life right now, so he isn't particularly active. Mightyoz doesn't play X. That leaves Gozar, DrLot, and I; and while yes, we are in the same alliance in X, the forums are a separate entity. I would hope that as adults (the minimum age I specified was 18) all of the mods can differentiate between a grudge in-game and being impartial in the forums.

If your problem is with Gozar specifically, I'd like to remind everyone that he has been a mod for a lot longer than a few months. When I asked him to be a mod (once again, before I was in AZGD) I knew that there would be people who disagreed. However, he is consistently active in the forums and I have agreed with how he has handled most situations. I also have yet to receive a single message telling me a decision he has made has been unfair or biased. I honestly wonder sometimes how he can keep such a cool head when almost every post about or directed at him is filled with vitriol.

I believe that the mod team has performed wonderfully, and impartially, especially DrLot and Mightyoz. So I stand by my decision to choose them out of the other applicants.

Also, a quick history lesson. Back when there was only one server, there was a long stretch of time (about a year) where the entire mod team was in the same alliance, RAWK. They were: Slash, Coolhand, Istalris, Neo, Witchy, I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting. There were some that felt this was unfair; however, this was back when Zorg was the one who chose the mods. And despite everyone being in the same alliance, we managed to separate game from forums. It's not difficult to remove yourself from a situation.

I offer a piece of advice to all in parting: Remember, this is a game. Just a game. Friendly competition is fine, but remember to not take things too personally. At the end of the day, it's all just pixels on a screen.

I would like to publicly thank Weresloth for his contributions to the community all these years.

Everyone remember that being a moderator is a hard task. I remember I had some complaints at the time were all mods where from RAWK. I also remember that the mod team at that time was one of the best we ever had. I finally remember that I had no idea which alliance every player had. I never personally cared in which alliance or in which rank any player is when considering him/her for a mod position and I am glad that Weresloth keeps it up.

To sum up, there is no need for such a voting. It falls into game administration and administration is not a popularity contest.

Furthermore, the initial topic is the definition of trolling and administration baiting. Therefore locked, next time issue bans right away please - for trolling.

Who ever has a problem with a mod, there is a specific procedure:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1849

linked from the general forum rules page here:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=202

To quote myself:
Zorg wrote:I have been requested to post the full procedure that must be followed in forum issues:

1.Player that has the issue, must contact the moderator in question.

2.If there cannot be any acceptable solution for the player, he can continue with his problem by contacting account the Forum Administrator (If there is one - currently Weresloth). The player MUST supply all communication with the moderator in question.

3.If the player still feels that the problem has not been resolved as the forum rules mention, he may contact the community Administrator (Currently Zorg). Transcripts of communication with the moderator and the community administrator must be provided.

4.The last resort is to email webmaster@zorgempire.net
The player must supply:
All communication with moderator
All communication with forums administrator
All communication with Community Administrator (account Zorg) in the forums
A final decision will come from Administration

As I have repeated some times in the past, those who complain about administration are the ones that have been given much leniency. But there is always time to fix this. This is why we got warnings.

So, forum topic locked and 1 warning and removal of the first post for Whoisit who has violated the following MAIN forum rules:
-Trolling
-Mod Baiting
