Is ZE dying?

#1
There aren't nearly as many active players on speed, chat, or the forums since I rejoined. I can understand why too. Nothing has changed. Have you made any changes at all to any existing or new universe? Not that I can tell. The only thing I can see is the "generals" thing that I missed out on (nbd).

I really think we need a much shorter development cycle with more people working on it. This game has been exactly the same raiding game for a long time now. Whether you make major overhauls in an existing or a new universe, I don't care. But I want to see more ship types, technologies, buildings, etc. at a frequent rate. Most popular games these days release monthly or even weekly updates. While I don't think ZE needs to scale up that high, I'd like to see some new blood.

DuctTape wrote:well mark you can try out Generals in Oct. Chat had been dead for along time and it is hard to keep players after the first week or even day from all the 0 point inactives i see. i think the Dev team is on Vacation too.
But there are things that can be done about this. The tutorial system is a must. When or if the devs get back from vacation, I suggest they implement something like that immediately. Perhaps better sub 10kpoints protection. Maybe link them to the ZE bite-size tutorial I made a while back (and used 4 days ago to refresh my memory).

Chat being dead is not a problem, but more of a litmus paper sample that things don't look so good.
