Does anyone else think this?

I have recently been exploring the forums, and found the trade forum for the standard universe. There I found lots of people selling and asking to buy metal, crystal and deu. Though this made me think, why would one trade for such goods when you could easily just attack the player that has the goods and take them from the raiding? Obviously you couldn't take them all but nonetheless why buy them? I mean Idk just a thought. Furthermore people are asking to trade for like 10k metal and ect. though why trade when you can just wait and get it all saved up? Seems a little ridiculous maybe I will understand the usefulness of trading but for now I am just a little lost with the use of it, especially with people that aren't in your alliance or anything.lol

When you attack you often get resources at a certain ratio. and in the game the units/buildings/researches costs at a different ratio. to have that kind of specific ratio it often takes a player to trade out their access of res for the res that their ratio lacks for building/researching the specific unit/building/research.

trade lets you have a flexible resource ratio. thats all. but yes you can always not trade and just keep raiding (that is attacking other players for resources) and get what you want.
