hes not wrong chuck how many top accounts have been handed from one player to another? its obvious its a problem when zorg had to enact rules to govern account trades...

Perhaps. I doubt any such, however, would remain in the game long.

I have consistently been growing, am in the top 20 within this universe, am hardly wanting of any game resource, and am - I dare say - hardly cowardly regarding my gameplay but have increasingly become aggressive. I have offered thoughts on the subject in character here:

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=10464

Yet in this forum, permit me to say this:

My very own exploits, what fleets I have sunk, what fleets of my own often sunk, whom I have taken down on the lanx, what path I took towards leading an alliance created one year prior to my beginning the game - all are the fruit of my very own efforts and errors alone. I made it. I did it.

When I crash someone's fleet, or destroy someone's defences, it is with fleets I myself created, using nanites and shipyards I built for myself from scratch, taking advantage of research that I myself engaged in employing resources that I myself accumulated, often with mines I built.

I did that

I have very often heard from those coming into Standard from other servers how their hope is to show us how things are done, how to be the proper fleeter some once said, what lessons must be taught - and lo and behold how their means of doing this has been to use what others built for them.

I will find myself impressed when someone shows us up by doing it as the rest of us have, on our own, up from the ground floor, surviving and negotiating the vulnerabilities and challenges involved in actually managing growth from absolutely nothing amidst so many much more powerful.

I have twice been offered a more powerful account

I have twice declined.

I built this

It is in that, that I can take pride.

Say what you please nuada.
I have built from the ground not once twice but three times to numbers over triple your standard, just comparison not coversion.

I built it

I built from 0 to 9 million I killed crushed and destroyed those who threatened me and challenged me.
I stayed safe when people where over four times bigger than me, and had more experience than me.
I survived through the hate through the fury through the hunt.

I built it, I kept it

I never skipped beat on my fleet save. Never slipped up and always played safe.
I never over step my boundaries and never stayed in one place to long. I lost it to a very clever hit and a well planned one, never to simple fight on fight.
For you to make such a post of account swapping is simple child mockery.
If RJ had any doubt he wouldn't have swapped as the same for any other swapping, obviously he had no problem allowing me to live into his legacy and build it further.
I'm sorry for not wanting to start over for yes, a fourth time against the monsters, who might I add would have been my allies anyway?
You don't want to swap, cool story keep it to yourself claiming it's not gloat but using it as ammo. Let us play our game.

I'm here to stay regardless of what you think.

Thanks for posting this allowing me to address everyone at once I suppose.

I went there

well put ... noow if you where just some guy who got the account who had never built an account up or fleet up and got the account just to hide then i would say booo .. but this is not the case you have paid your dues and you have earned the right to use not hide behind a deccent account.... a big account is not a hiding place but an attack base as deidara will show all you guys in standard as he has many others in speed

I've appreciated my discussion with Doomrager via PM. I won't disclose it here, but I do think he now sees what I'm trying to convey - just as I certainly do see that if he did not take this account, then someone else certainly would have. It's just the way. My concerns are not with Doomrager, whom I sure plays the game well and ethically with skill and honor (his quite remarkable recent #1 hit certainly demonstrated this, along with particularly the way he had expressed himself regarding it).

My concerns are with the practice - and I do certainly know that if the practice remains, then these accounts remain in play. Should Doomrager not have assumed this account, RJ would indubitably found another no less deserving. Yet this is not always the way. Should any powerful account retire to later be given away, then as Chuck noted, the risk is someone hides behind it. The risk is that it becomes itself an object of gameplay. Many trade and take accounts without respecting them.
