Lovely Day in the Community

After talking with one of my alliance mates who had been crashed (apparently) six times in the past 12 days, and didn't know what to do. I thought I would try and ask the player that was attacking what their motive was (e.g. they weren't fleetsaving) so I sent this:

No posting of private messages. Warning Issued-DR

I don't understand why this play had to respond is such a way, I wanted to know what my mate did wrong so I could help him. It's not like I was a threat being a lowly <100k point player to a millionaire-point player so that wouldn't make sense saying I was a threat and it was natural. The conclusion I came to is that the community overall is nice but when it comes to the supers they are arrogent and naïve. In reality you should be helping the lowers and guiding them if you want anyone to contest you (the whole point of the game), so why when I try and take that role I am stomped out by the one whom should be doing it?

P.S. I didn't send a message back but posted here so we can see just how ignorant that really was, but I have reserved the morals to not mention anyones name.

Its just proudness that SOME of the bigger players have...
But most of the big guy's are usually nice and helpfull, dont bother yourself with a few of them who dont know how to talk(respectfully) with others.

Very true, not all of the stronger players are this way. I know several on speed and other servers, myself included, that will offer all the advice they can if you take the time to ask them and then opt to actually listen. For the most part, respect is given where it is received and where it is due. However, there are always those who didn't quite learn proper social behavior and will be rude, arrogant dicks. But don't make assumptions about all of the top players because of a few rotten bastards.

To help with your specific situation, taking a good look at the combat report may help with identifying the cause of any attack. Resources and ships are what most of us are after, but the term "worthwhile" is relative to the player and many will attack without hesitation where a few will not to let the "little fish" grow.

I'm guessing the person you messaged was just annoyed that his/her motives were being questioned in the first place while they were doing their daily raiding. Bad day maybe?

i know when i crash someone it is for profit. if they message me back i will let them know why i hit them and where to improve their Game play so it will not happen again.
sometimes it takes a few hits to get them to message you.

Well, some don't message you because that can be a flag as to when they're on and when they're off.

The probes and attacks might be a clue they are online as well. I'm with Shadow. I raid, but I try to help as well.

I am with Choke, Shadow, and Flapper here.

I crashed more than just a few ships on one of the servers today. Some of the hits might be called petty to some players, but for me if it means I'm making a few million res in profit, I'll go for it.

I don't bully players, but if potential profit exists, potential profit will be made.

If a player were to come to me asking me why I'm hitting them, or even asking me to stop, I will not necessarily stop, but still offer them advice on the game to the best of my ability.

As the others have said, try to look for a cause in the hits. Does the combat report show a lot of res taken? or a lot of fleet lost? After you find this out, explore for solutions to the problem. e.g. keeping the res from sitting on your planet, fleet saves, etc.

the game is about growing and profit is needed to grow.. when I started speed the first time and when i came back i learned how to play from players like choke rj gumps but then you have your other players awsome guys but easily anoyed and dont want to teach what they know because they feel that is their advantage and dont want to give it up.
