a proper turtle has no fleet. I personally dont see a point in playing if you are just turtling. it has to be so boring and if a group of people hate you they will take a loss in order to take your shell off

But, if you build up good relations with the community and fleeters, cross your turtling with mining, you can make a hell of a profit without having to worry about losing it all. People like this enjoy a casual game play and can excel by having massive building/defense points.

i agree. if you just chill and keep a low profile you are safe. and if you just spend all your res on mines and maybe 30% on defense you are safe. also fleetsaving the deut till you have a lot and using a ruby to instantly change it to metal and crystal with a ruby is a good idea.

Trading it out to needy fleeters can also help to build a solid relationships in the community. Feed the fleets and they generally won't come your way. ;)

Although the ruby option is better now, the player to player rates for deut are horrific. :?

Even if you could destroy a mobile colony, the chances are there is nothing bar a silo on it. It will take the fleeter what? An hour to get it back? How could you differentiate between a mobile and a perm colony? I could just sent a perm colony and destroy it when Im done! And dont give me the spiel that you cannot delete a perm colony because then everyone will be stuck with crappy planet sizes. It simply WONT work.

Himmm?, How can I say it to make sense... Say you had 3-4 perm colony planets right, with heaps of resources and had good def
and some fleet sitting but I needed to get rid of your def to make my plan work, so I put a colony planet along side yours!,
the planet I just put there has no resources?. And is there for only 1 reason which you know, so why shouldn't you be able to take
out that planet? to save your own perm colony planets.....

Or say you had a perm colony planet with heaps of resources as such can not be destroyed buy anyone and say you got sick of that
colony planet and decide to destroy it your self to move it somewhere else and start from scratch again, then it be a target and
can be destroyed by others if they think your after them...

Perm colony planets should be like a main planet as long as they show good resources and only your self can destroy it..
A colony planet with on resources or small resources should be fair game as if no real work went into them, then there be
no loss!... But I don't think a fleet should be able to destroy a colony planet maybe DS or new planet missile?...
A new player only needs 1 planet when first starting and since it can't be destroyed the colony planets would be a testing
time for them to learn?...

Are you saying a planet with no buildings could be destroyed? Where is the line between a mobile colony and a perm (developing) colony? What you are suggesting is an extremely vague idea, in the wrong section of all places. Not only this, you have no suggestions on how this could be made possible (techs, planet destroying ship requirements, building costs)

As Ista stated before, it already is hard for fleeters but there are a handful of really good fleeters in this game and some more growing fleeters. With not alot of food, its survival of the fittest. Fleeters will setup bases and stalk players for weeks before hitting them.

You were whining the other night because you were attacked, now you are digging a hole...

1:.. It IS a vague idea (not to mention the FACT that if you wanted it as a game suggestion you should have posted it under game suggestions)... you give no concept of how anything like this could be accomplished with or without hurting the lower players who need colonies to help them grow. There is no way of being able to tell the difference between colony someone is building to support themselves and one someone is putting up to take out defenses, besides the fact that if they have high enough impulse drive they don't have to put it right next to you to be able to take you down.
2:... I would be more apt to say there is no food for the fleeters because the food has become smarter and most don't just leave their ships sitting behind defenses anymore... they do intelligent things... like...hmmmm ... FLEETSAVE properly.

As for the people viewing the topic, it counts for every time anyone comes in here, I come in this topic sometimes just to reread some of the points. As for them being scared to post because they will be attacked by big fleeters... get a grip, you are out of line on that one. AND to answer a possible question you may have.... nope, I am not a fleeter, nor am I a turtle, nor a miner.... I make it a habit to try to combine my knowledge with a little of all of them.

to say it bluntly your idea is stupid. its not thought out and it really is unbalanced and game breaking. i dont understand why you think you would do better with any rule changes. smarter players will simply play better then you under any circumstances. for everything there is a counter. for ipm's there are ABM for fleets there is fleet saving for whiners there is the mothers breast
