Considering this is a thread about Mentors or Apprentices.. that speaks volumes about yourself Curtis. Doesn't take a psychotherapist to see the problems.
There's a certain etiquette that should be followed so everyone has a pleasurable game - verbal harassment is extremely childish and doesn't help any situation at all. And considering you yourself were a "noob" at the time (remember our fleetsaving discussion?) it'd be in your best interest to drop the mudslinging.
As to myself, I've learned much about this game from other games... trial and error, making mistakes and paying for them, and learning the ropes the hard way. I love Zorg for its lacking of features... makes it more challenging.
I've mentored dozens, but sadly a large number of them have neither the time or the constitution for such an involving game. I believe that the best way to get someone established in the game is to show them some simple truths.
1. You are never safe.
2. It's a GAME.
3. Life is cruel.
4. Karma is a b%*$h.
and last, a quote from A. P. Gouthey
“To get profit without risk, experience without danger, and reward without work, is as impossible as it is to live without being born.”
If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. I'd type a little faster.
