u taking fishpond seriously guys? common he is just probably is bored and thought to mess with you. i am sure he wasnt meaning anything with that. he usually does that alot. give the guy a break will you?
talking about defense. just so u know defense to the fleet ratio is a liner scale of numbers.
that is if 1 part defense goes up and the factor is M then the required fleet to crash that defense goes up by that M factor.
also if u know what it takes to make ur daily returns safe from a fleet u can easily find what it would take for a few more days by simply scaling that time frame with the defense. also the plausible threat as in the attacker guess on what his/her fleet power is and mind the factor for ur defense to keep urself safe from him/her.
but i am guessing galez have already thought of all that. the only problem is when there is a big horde ppl usuallly sends RIPs to attack it. and we all know how fun it is to ninja a RIP attack with the current setup.
so my best suggestion is do not horde ur planets for more than a day always clean out everyday so that ppl are not tempted to send RIPs. if u cant find time then go for a shell that will ripple rips not standard raiding fleets such as BS/BC.
Lets say u want to be safe from 20 RIPs that is 20 mil res raid. for that i would say u will need a good ION array and a good pack of heat.
RL 4,000 (for the RF reduction
LL 7,000 (shield reduction/armor reduction)
HL 1000 (fodder/armor reduction)
GC 450 (armor reduction)
ION 5,500 (absorb 50% attack points)
PC 160 (armor reduction)
SSD 1
LSD 1
and from here on and forward just scale up ur defense so that the attacker has to send the factor up fleets to crash it. the idea is to have enough leverage to make a good dent on the attacker.
but even so all this stats turtling still wont keep u safe cause there will be some bored fleeter who will just gonna hit that shell for the fun of a big TD.
Re: Is there a strategy? Er, yes.
#22My strategy is more of a blueprint to building rather than a guide to the entire style of turtling. In other words, "How to create a shell" with the least amount of resources and strongest shields/structures/attack possibly. Put that together with the top RF and you're good to go .

#23hmmm defense having RF?
no defense have RF anything other than probes :s that is one of the reason ppl use probes as fodder when going up against shell bashing and LF when up against fleet.
and just to make a point if u follow what i posted there is a 90% chance that ur ION array wont take any damage and u will have it back 100%. hence the rebuild is alot cheaper when u have the ratio cracked with LL+ION+(gc/pc)

Re: Is there a strategy? Er, yes.
#24Not true anymore. PCs RF against Lunar Guardians. And when I say "highest RF" I mean lowest to be targetted by.

Re: Is there a strategy? Er, yes.
#25Im not threatening anyone, im just stating that this strategy doesnt work. I discussed it with Kuddlez yesterday and you need a massive shell to withstand top fleeters. Secondly on that matter, Devante may of been dumb but i am not Mr 'Im in protection so i can say what i like'Desert_Reaper wrote:I agree with Gale. Those comments were seriously uncalled for Fish, especially since no one cares if you can no loss her shells. And as for your comment about showing Gale that you can no loss her shells, I'm reminded of the fool Devante on xtreme, who was dumb enough to threaten rj in chat even though he is puny.
I dont want players thinking that with a big shell they can leave resources just sitting there. Gale has profit on all her planets i saw and this is not a good strategy.
Dont feel comfortable because you have a baby shell still protect and lok after your resources. I dont want little guys thinking this is how the game works. lol
This is perfectly said, i worked out (sorry Kuddlez) if you send in mass amounts of Probes you can actually smash a defence with minimal casualtys to your own fleet and win every time. ESP are unbelievably powerful cannon fodder in bulk.SPY wrote:hmmm defense having RF?

Also did i witness you stick up for me lol. Well dare i say this, Thanks.
For the rest of you, im merly making a point of a poor strategy to the game and this is one that should not be followed because how ever much you spend on defence in one hit it will be halved wasting what ever you have saved up for doing in the first place.
For new players, build enough defence to protect you over night res and leave it at that. When you are stronger maybe look into having a big turtle on a main where your fleet lands to help you defend yourself, other than that dont turtle because you are there to have your points smashed apart trust me!! I love turtle bashing.

#261. The strategy works. You wouldn't know, you dont know what it is.TheLegendFishpond wrote:im just stating that this strategy doesnt work. 2. Discussed it with Kuddlez? Kuddlez and I discussed it too. He seemed pretty positive of it in fact.
3. The strategy isn't a one-time thing, you keep building it. But you wouldn't know that, because you haven't seen it.
4. Don't judge what you don't know about.

#27Fish don't doubt Gale's strategy. She taught it to me long ago and it scares off almost everyone that bothers probing me. So it does work so long as you keep building it up.

#28Also, it should be obvious to anyone who understands ZE that you don't leave massive piles of resources behind a shell regardless of the strength. the main use of a shell is to protect production and fleet if you accidentally forget to FS (at least for me)

#29You have in mind that I'm saying I've concocted some magic shell that can fend off enormous fleets. What I'm actually saying is that I've figured out the most effective way to build a shell. Why is that so hard to accept?

#30Exactly i havent seen it because you have to spend years making it, by that time you will not have a shell!Devola wrote:1. The strategy works.
