Used to turtle a bit might in the future on my back waters, then fleeted for a while then mined, never have been crashed yet....

But now im just relaxing and mining letting my mines pay for my mines no longer a fleeter and the mysterious disappearence of my fleet shall remain an untold story ;)

I like the idea of mining over fleeting, personally. Mines are a permanent asset to an empire that are always there pumping out resources. Ships, on the other hand, are not always making you money, if they are not active, and can consequently be destroyed, if you are not careful. To loose ships as a fleeter is to loose potential income.

There is no doubt fleeting/raiding will earn you big bucks. And if done properly, it will pay handsomely. But one cannot turn a blind eye on the raw income vacuum that is the miner. Lets just say a miner has 21 planets that are more or less clustered. Each one produces about 2 million a day in accumulative resources, Metal/Crystal/Deuterium. When you take the overall income into account, that individual is making 42 million a day. And thats consistently. Every day he can wake up and know 42 million is waiting there for him to use. This is in comparison to a fleeter, whose resources are moving constantly. Sure a fleeter can make just as much, if not more, but they would have to hit people every single day for more than 42 million res. just to keep up with the miner.

There are other difficulties with fleeting, as well. It takes an experienced player to locate, track and then hit a fleet that's profitable to them. All of this has to be done effectively while keeping their fleet afloat with the res. they generate to keep other fleeters from snatching their fleet.

There is no wrong playing style, just one that fits your lifestyle. Some people are not capable of being incredibly active in the game while others are looking for more of a challenge. Question is completely based upon the person playing.

the excitement in that sentence is very tempting..i'll just be all 3 and that way i regen resources..which happens to be amongst the highest ..and a fleeter..that way i can sit an do nothing for for mines that was built off other peoples fleets while i wait till 2012 to actually see the 'net' profit from them..another dead horse subject..the math in mining in zorg is astronamically slow because of the double the next upgrade vs hourly production from it...anyhow each their own.. but all the miners and their 'perma' points..that daily production of just under 115 mil a day from my mines on 19 perma planets was produced by being a fleeter. As to those members of the mill light laser club...they are obviuosly built for me to crash..and crash them i will here really soon

just say one thing, if you are a die hard miner then you'd be using ur mines to produce the resources for the upgrades... this is kinda like paying itself off ;)

I used fleet and i never was crashed so i did get alot of the swagg from the life... but theres things to remember... its not safe... all the time.... so its wise to improve your mines now and then because if your crashed... then you'll have a quick rebuild plan. Mining is not for those who want to have fun in this game its for those who want to chill or dont have that much time to play the game. Fleeting is the only course of action to really get anywhere in this game quick or even grow! Look at Mysree and Kilzac for example they've grown by the millions in such a short time. and over a long period of playing you will soon grow exponetially.

Side note for miners,

if you are going to mine u got to have a little bit of aturtle on each planet to keep the noobers away ;P cuz if you dont you will be farmed
