If sitting was allowed then the vacation option should be removed. I thought that's what that was what it was for, I mean you can't get attacked, why worry? And if Vmode doesn't give you enough time & you have someone sit for you & it goes on for like what seems forever, then IMHO yeah you're prolly multi- accounting then. If sitting was installed it would have to be set with a time limit as well as a "no sending of resources" to/from the sitter's account of ANY kind (to cut back on cheating) possibly a limit of 1-2 weeks to sit then the "sat" player goes inactive till they return.

I wouldn't want V-mode option disallowed. What I would like to see is Account Sitting disallowed.

I do not believe more than one account in any given game universe should ever be played from any given IP, period, regardless of the time elapsed between the playing of accounts. People devote a lot of time in this game specifically looking to mistakes and errors others make in their fleetsaving. No one should be spared the consequences of their failure to plan fleetsaving around those inevitable personal emergencies they may have.

That is why we have v-mode and cell phone access.

This needs to either be disallowed...or it needs to be added to the Official Rules List..and explained clearly and concisely... Not cool to have things allowed..but kept secret from the General Player Base. :naughty: :naughty:

I hate to drag this out, but just to be clear. Say for example, there are three players with three accounts, one each. Am I right that it is legal for them to rotate accounts say once a month. If one leaves the game, is it legal for the two to keep playing the three so long as each player only has one active at a time.

The way this reads, as long as only one account is not in holiday mode, you can have all the accounts you want.

I think its possible as long as that SAME person doesn't act in a way that sSupports & Compliments the 'Other' accounts actions...

I.e;
Bashing rule... one account attacks a single planet 5 times... VMODES then the other becomes active and attacks that SAME planet another 5 times...

In my eyes it's just easier to handle one account ahaa! Why go through the trouble!? :roll:

Not sure what good it would do anyone to play one account, put it into vmode then play another account. They really do not benefit in anyway from doing this. This is really not any kind of account sitting, it is just some way for someone to try to circumvent the rules and have more than one account on a server.

Doing the multi account "round robbin" is not going to allow a player to grow and become a challenge to other players. So why do it?

Lol, like i did with my old account in Mass. I quit and swapped it with a friend who had a much weaker account ,just so i could log on from time to time to say hello to the guys.. My mistake was that i fed my fleet to the alliance , because i thought that i had already build this account to a high enough level and he should build his own fleet from nothing. My oh my, the trouble i started with that ...wow...
I felt sorry for the guy since the MrSinister account got banned for a year, so i gave him his account back and now the notorious account is in Limbo. My bad... But hey, i guess some good did come out of this drama (the retiring and crashing your fleet rule), now it's probably a lot harder to "retire" and then come out of retirement again after feeding another with your fleet.
And i'm out again, lol....

My first thought for abuse is building a nice meaty mining account and let it become known as a farm. Do this with several accounts and rotate between them, organizing ACS ninjas with other players. When an account gets known as too dangerous, they shift. Very benificial to an alliance.

Second thought is that the tactic gives you a near infinite number of space keepers. All you have to set up an account and develop it enough to send out colony ships. You take up spots to dominate regions of space to prevent people bringing floaters to close. You only have to log in once a month to keep the account from deleting, so a decent sized alliance could cloud a whole galaxy.

Next thought is developing mid level accounts with different colonization ranges. You won't build one big account, but not everyone cares about that. The spread lets you focus on different areas of space depending on mood or who you want to target.

It's nothing that I want to do, but there are reasons to do it.
