I am a truck driver, when I get to customer and have to wait, I break out the laptop and see what is happening in this game, Like now, I have to wait 3 hours to get a load picked up. So, I am online quite often during the day when I am working. And NO, I do not play while driving, at least not any online games...

Ew. :?

A lot of people call me a "nerd" because I get good grades. There are stereotypes about nerds....some of them that I've heard include:

1. Grades are the most important thing to them.
2. They always do their homework right when they get it.
3. They always spend the entire day online when they're not studying (that's why they're so whimpy looking).
4. They take pleasure in knowing that they're more intelligent than other people.
5. They look down on people that don't get straight 1's (or A's).
6. Math excites them.

My answers to these:

1. God and family come first, studies are just for my future career.
2. I'm the world's worst procrastinator.
3. I spend the entire day running around the city; singing, dancing, hanging out with my little sister, sketching somewhere new, working out, or taking a jog.
4. I'm really not intelligent myself...unlike a lot of people, I have to study FOREVER in order for something to make sense to me, but my grades are worth the effort.
5. The hell?
6. I hate math.

Yeah, some people are stereotypes like that. But I don't think that being a nerd would fit somebody just for making good grades... I make A's and B's (for the past two years at least  ) on my tests and report cards, and I couldn't be considered a nerd in less the answers to your questions were:

1. Rathered get a few good grades than a few bad ones, so studying a few hours a week doesn't hurt.
2. Never even do homework, so how do I turn it in?
3. I am almost never on the computer. 1-2 hours a day, at the most. I have football after school, then I have to work in my yard, since my dad is getting too old to do it all himself. (Though I would never say that to his face) That'll change as soon as school's out, so I can finally go to college.
4. Screw that... If I did that, my friends would jump me...
5. Again, If I did that, half of my friends wouldn't be my friends.
6. Math *****.

Same here people call me a nerd... (sometimes)

1. Grades are the most important thing to them -- Completely wrong. I don't like getting bad grades because i know they will affect my future, but sports and having fun are more important to me than good grades.
2. They always do their homework right when they get it. -- I normally do this because of two reasons... One... If you don't do your homework at my school you have to stay after school for 1/2 hour and i just don't have time for that. Two... I will affect my future because it is a big portion of my grade.
3. They always spend the entire day online when they're not studying (that's why they're so whimpy looking). -- hey!!! I am the fastest kid in class!!! I am good at sports... do you really think i spend my whole life infront of the keyboard?! I spend 1 and a half hours swimming (or more) every day.
4. They take pleasure in knowing that they're more intelligent than other people. -- what?! I take pleasure in knowing i WORK harder than other people and thats why i do better in school. If people actually tried then i am sure they would get far.
5. They look down on people that don't get straight 1's (or A's). -- I don't do this!!! (because i get in the high 80s and low 90s).
6. Math excites them. -- My best subject is math but it definately does not excite me. My favorite subject is English, even though i get the worst grades in it.

whats wrong with being a nerd? is social standing somehow more important than improving yourself?

if people look down at you because of being "nerdy", then they are obviously not worth your time worrying about or getting to know, that includes so-called friends...

1. Grades are the most important thing to them.

depends which perspective you are looking at and the situation you are in

2. They always do their homework right when they get it.

3. They always spend the entire day online when they're not studying (that's why they're so whimpy looking).

4. They take pleasure in knowing that they're more intelligent than other people.

5. They look down on people that don't get straight 1's (or A's).

1. Nope, grades are 3rd to family and fun. Family is obviously important, and you're only in high school once, so you might as well enjoy it.
2. I usually can't finish all my homework because I don't do it until the period before it's do.
3. I don't study at all, and I am online a lot :ugeek: , but I play basketball a few hours a day to get better.
4. Hell yeah, but why's that a bad thing?
5. I hardly ever get straight A's
6. What's wrong with a well thought out puzzle giving you a boner? Maybe not quite to that extent, but I do like math.
