Re: Preventing recent drama from being repeated

I have been flying with ESU for 4 years now and I've learned if your offline and your fleet lands and an alliance mate has sent you messages/called you to let you know how dumb your being only for you to return to a complete loss of fleet from him attacking you ...It's still your fault, the DF is returned. the thought I personally share with some players is that i would much rather have an alliance mate take my fleet and put it to good use when it could have been an opposing player. If my opponent gets it it only gives them a larger fleet to use.

Wait I am lost 4 years? I didn't think Zorg was that old. lol. But Honestly I have learned there is so many lairs on here. Also being kicked from alliance for a good reason? So I can make up a good reason and kick just because I BELIEVE its a good reason? You cant get mad at me right? lol Anyways its called being respectful and honestly not many people respect anything or anyone on this game anymore. I remember the good ol days when Fleeters took fleets of players that was lazy to fleet save or whatever. I remember when your word meant YOUR WORD. I remember when people who say we are friends .... are your friends. I been playing almost 2 years now and really there is a select few people I trust 100% and the sad thing is most of them dont play anymore. I like this rule even if its NOT A RULE. People need to learn respect for others ... Even if its just a game. :) Just shows who you are on the out side world!

I would just like to point out that the recent drama referred to in this topic was made possible because the attackee habitually did not FS. If he had FSed he would still have his fleet. If you FS properly and consistently log in on time to greet your fleet on its return, it is exceedingly unlikely that anyone will get your fleet. I do not think there is a need for this rule

Also, this rule would not prevent someone from attacking a CURRENT alliance mate, which makes the rule ENTIRELY pointless.

True Spiff, but attacking a current alliance mate is like committing suicide (with the exception of either a moonshot or feeding fleet), which is probably why Gozar made a point of not being CURRENT alliance mates with either GWD or Rj (Not saying I know everything about his reasons and methods, just taking a guess).

Hence the rule applying to FORMER alliance mates. Not so much trying to make it so that lazy people are protected, my goal with this is more in the lines of balance

Also, I believe Chaotic might be referencing another game he has played, since Zorg Empire is only around 3 years old or so Doll

According to Gozar's post on the hit, he kicked Destruction before the attack out of a sense of fair play i.e. you should not attack an alliance mate or someone on your friendlist because you can see their online time. I am neither defending nor attacking this decision or logic, just reminding people of the attacker's statement at the time. Yes it would be suicide for an average joe member to suddenly on his own initiative attack an alliance mate, but this is not what happened, let us not be silly, it is very clear that if Gozar had attacked Destruction while D was still in the allinace, it would clearly not have been suicide for Gozar. Nor would it be suicide for other alliances to attack members they no longer trust or want. This rule will not protect anyone if their alliance leaders decide to take them down, although FSing will as always (unless they were FSing to an alliance mate's moon...which opens another kettle of fish).

lets not discuss matters that involves guess work. for fact it is known to all that if a player is online and his fleet is down and someone is attacking his fleet ... only a ret@rd will not move it. so clearly RJ has had the good faith of not moving his fleet off.

what gozar's intention or how he did it i do not have clear knowledge or want to hear his excuses. i would only take what i can see for facts. about this current issue... when u intentionally take down a fellow player when that fellow player has trusted his online and offline times and fleet where abouts to you, the essence of being in an alliance says he should expect that that player is safe. Trust is a major key that u are trying to put on a fellow alliance mate where u all have already said trust means nothing.

moving away from this incidence... if there is a leader who intentionally recruites a player so that he can fry him later.... having all the info such as his on/offline times... his fs coordinates and habits also his fleet power... then according to you ZE has no responsibility what so ever for creating a game where "Cheating" of this sort is allowed. I fail to see how you would condone such behavior.

we are not arguing to let a thief go but to protect an innocent cause the rule says thieves and innocent are alike.

I say gamewise its the game's responsibility that things like this do not demoralize a player and make them lose faith and quit. once again do not take the above scenario for model only ... there could be way more incidences already happened that we were not informed off as i said in one of my previous posts.

I support this because...well i have seen alot of traitors and back-stabbers in this game and i just think it is unfair to people who cant defend themselfs just get booted out of a alliance or stuff like that and raided by the friends who find they want what someone has

It would take some freedom away but it is a small price to pay i think
