@ZORG MANAGEMENT: I will ask my team to post their votes onto the Forum. Maybe, more users will be interested to participate in the forum for the Player Awards if a small incentive (e.g. 500 rubies) was given to the best player elected by the community each month.
Hi Ancient,

Bringing us much people is the best. We want though the playersto vote whom they truly want and not because of some prize. Adding a prize will mean that you can vote for a purpose different from the one described in each particular question.

This is a player run contest run from the start of the game that unfortunately does not have much appeal in the Standard and this is what we are trying to help.

Hello

Right, I understand your point that many players will tend to make fake vote to favour some persons based on friendliness rather than performance.

At some point in time last year, I got some internal problems to keep my members motivated and stay in the game.

Thus, I had organized a small contest which I ask all my members to monitor the performance of each other during 2 months:
- On two occasions, I had communicated the % progress of each members by taking their points at 2 different points in time.
- On the deadline date, each member has elected the top 7 members who have progressed most according to my performance table, their own investigations (scanning their friends to see their progress in mines/research.etc).
- Then, I had prepared an Excel file to keep track of the votes received from the team and I had got a reduced list of top 7 members elected by my team.
- With my jury panel consisting of my 5 top members which were not eligible in the contest, we had chosen the top 5 promising young stars from the list of 7 proposed candidates.
- A small reward of 250 rubies was given to each of the 5 promising young stars.

In short, see if my idea of letting the community post their votes on the usual list of questions + introduce a section to allow the community to elect the "Best Player of the Month" Award.

Based on the number of votes gathered for the "Best Player of the Month" Award, a shortlist of 5-10 members elected by the community may be reviewed by a jury panel from ZE management who will reward the Best Player based only on performance or any other criteria you feel right.

Hi. I just started this game recently and would like to participate in the voting, but I honestly have no idea who i would even nominate for anything.

There's pretty much zero interaction between players in the game and the times I've tried out chat I've seen only 2 things:

complete silence
immature curse-filed rants about marijuana legalization

I understand that being part of an alliance would help, but it seems to me that if I were in an alliance I'd end up voting for members of my alliance instead of the person(s) who actually deserve recognition.

Indeed an alliance would help. Game can be pretty cruel at times, especialy for new players.

Indeed, most people tend to vote for people they have spent more time taking to, which would make alliance mates at the top of the list. That's just an accepted bias in the voting.

Also, there are better times on chat than what you describe, I promise.

In games like this, best community ever here. The chats are always great. Join the chat. Get on the forums. Join an alliance. You seem to have simply isolated yourself and are angry that by playing solo, avoiding chat and rarely visiting the forums to contribute, you have missed out on the player-base.

lol, umm, ok.. I didn't realize I was going to get psychoanalyzed by posting my opinion..

I'm sure the community is great, I just haven't seen it yet.. I'm in chat, quite a bit, but there's rarely anything going on besides what I already mentioned.. Is there a peak time for chat?

I'm not angry about anything at all. I'm just pointing out what I feel is the reason for such low participation in the Player Awards voting.. If everything was as wonderful as you suggest, it seems there would be much more activity..

Like I said, I'm new.. I've only been playing for about 2 weeks.. My forum usage has primarily been reading the numerous threads and trying to implement what I've learned in-game.. Until now I've had no reason to post anything.. I understand that in your opinion, If I'm not posting messages then I *must* not be visiting the forums.. *shrug*

As for an alliance, I'm sure I'll probably join one eventually, but right now I see absolutely no benefit in joining one other than being able to take part in a popularity contest..
