I was going to type something long and convoluted here that probably no one would read. Instead I'll just say this:
I agree with all those who have said that just because something is within the rules does not make it right. But, if you're going to say that, you should apply it to every aspect of your game.
Re: A fleet that most players would be pleased of...
#12I totally agree with you Marius. I know it's the Greek talk again. And quite frankly Gozar, why are you so godamn obsessed with him huh? It must be killing you that you just can do nothing to him. As far as I am concerned, the guy is just playing his game. I mean look at you, you have a fleet size of over ONE HUNDRED and FIFTY SIX MILLION, at least last time I checked. Greek has over 5million now. If anything, this guy should be given a medal for being smart. He's sacrificing a lot is he not? Low tech levels, low building levels, very low defence. Just fleet. It's a war game and that's his strategy. You can't blame him. It's said, that you have well enough RIP's to pop a ruby moon, which you very much do, with pleasure. I think your problem is, you can't stomach this guy sitting on your throne at the noob level. With your fleetsize, all other fleeter's are hopeless in battle against you. With Greek's fleetsize, all other noob are hopeless in battle against him. Now tell me, is there much difference between you and him? No, I don't think so. The fact is, you are xtreme's universe greatest threat. With your fleetsize, there is just no hiding from you. It will take serious skill and expensive deut to stay just one step ahead of you.
This is a war game quite alright. And the rules are simple. Never leave your fleet and resources unattended. Never lob your fleet at anyone without doing your homework. But with you, an additional rule is needed. Never fleetsave in the same galaxy, or even the next. Do it 2,3 or even 4 galaxies away. Just to be "safe". Like you can go on a moon popping spree and all. But Greek, he's not yet great a threat. He can't pop any moon he wants. This is not a game for weaklings. I hope i'm not the only one who sees, "home of the BEST.....too intense for the REST" everytime I log in. and that's just right. Yeah, sure, newcomers need a little time to get accustomed to the game. But if they all observe the simple rules, Greek still can't do them s***t. In fact, surviving under a player like that should be their ultimate goal. That's about the most fun they can squeeze out. Stop blaming him for the reduction in the playerbase. He hasn't done a quarter of the damage you have done. Everybody knows, not only noobs, but high ranking, skillfull players have been forced to crash their fleet on retirement just because they have deemed you "unbeatable".
Gentlemen and ladies, emperors from all universe wide, the ultimate problem here is not with Greek or Gozar or any other Dr Evil out there. It's a simple feature in the game that's being misused. Consider for a moment, a zorg universe, where no Moon poppings take place. Isn't it a deeply unpleasant idea that, after having spent hard earned resources on moon buildings, (the robot factory, lunar base, the jump gate...) someone can just come around and poof! Gone? Time and resources wasted. I say, cancel out moon destruction mission out of the game. And that means, the phalanx wouldn't be of much use and so can be removed too. With that gone, everybody can grow and build their empire in peace. The right ones will stay. The weaklings can go play candy crush for all I care. If they can't handle it, let them be in their merry way.
You dare come here putting all the blame on an innocent, smart guy's head. Seriously, imho, a big bad move from you. And forgive me for saying this too, you kind of suck bringing this up. Somebody else should have brought this up, but not you. Not you.
Remove the moon popping ability and I assure you, it's going to solve a lot of problems. Thank you all, for your time.

#13Marius, there is no need for you to reason that you may think that I value my opinion above your own. That hints of a chip on the shoulder.
But, some of the points you have raised. You seem to think that this point of view is shared among two or three players, as you said. That these two or three players all have massive accounts, as you said. To which I replied that this is not the case. Hence why I asked what you considered a to be a "big score to boot".
The fact is, this New player protection is designed for new players, it's that simple. Hence why it has been suggested that instead of, or indeed in conjunction with a score level, there is also a fixed term time limit. This will expire after a set time. What that time limit should be, I do not know. What is a reasonable amount of time to learn the game?
Neusbeer has stated "in my opinion it's just a playing style. they still can mess up, and they still can be ninjaed." This is true. The whole point of my other post and the point I am making here is that perhaps this should be addressed. That the New Player Protection should only apply to New Players. Without game suggestions being added to the game suggestion threads then there is no point to the topic. Hence my posts.

#14I don't mean to be obnoxiously offensive, but just look at yourself. " so what chance do they stand?" you went further, "absolutely none". And that's just ridiculous, coming from you. No, ironic!! Grow the.Edited up boss.Gozar wrote:....as such is able to attack players with almost no defence or fleet..so what chance do they stand...ABSOLUTELY none....95% now just quit...result the game will have very few long term players.....
warning issued does not matter how you spell that word foul language of that nature is not permitted

#15Some points raised by King-Immortal.
"the ultimate problem here is not with Greek or Gozar or any other Dr Evil out there. It's a simple feature in the game that's being misused."

These are fair points, I tend to agree with some of what he says. But that does not address the issue at hand, New player protection for non new players.

#16I think it wouldn't change much. within the new inactive rule of 2 days, they new ones (who aren't steady players in the start mostly will still be crashed/farmed within the time they are grey).
So new players in whole perspective will still be challenged by the stronger players, and maybe they should,.. learn to fleetsave, learn to build some defense.. etc.
and fun side is a few players who fly though the maze of rules. (and for some, the reason to stay playing on a server, or even start on a server which can be 'exploited' by this feature). so changing the rules would cost also players who wants to play this style.

#17Why do you keep saying this??
The topic is to glorify the Super Noob with such a fine fleet count on one hand, then demoralize him on the other hand. I guess you missed the first text.
This topic is for Gozar to complain about not being able to get targets because this Super Noob takes all the fleets that he wants.
This topic is not about protection for new players..mightyoz wrote: But that does not address the issue at hand, New player protection for non new players.

Re: A fleet that most players would be pleased of...
#18I'd like to say one more thing: New player protection in Massacre is only 25k. Most supernoobs on X have just under 200k permanent points, so, as the 5x protection rule is still in place for supernoobs, they still cannot hit players much below 40k points. A little ironic that protection in X for new players is better than in Mass even WITH supernoobs, and yet we are only talking about issues with player protection and retention on X... Supernoobs are not the main reason player retention is poor...
I will agree 110% with what others have said multiple times here and elsewhere: A new player has as much chance against a supernoob as anyone else has against Gozar. Given the current MD rules, I'd say the new player actually has more of a chance.

Well, I read it as the problem with Super Noobs. What was used to illustrate a point is of no consequence to me. I read the point being made, perhaps you missed that?
