I agree,
to many inactive makes the game a
just a race to see who can "farm the most"
not much of a competition
BUT THEN """"" ZORG """"""
that is UR FAULT.
u seem like u just WILL NOT
do the things necessary to improve the game,
u had rather see the game die than give ur player base the things needed to improve the game
I have played this game on 4-5 different sites,
each one slightly different,
Why not take the best of all the variations and combined them into "Zorg Empire"
start a new server,
and see what happens,
That shouldn't be to hard nor take "Forever" to do
a good programmer could have it up and running in a matter of days, not years
Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#12The inactive system is fine the way it is now. If you wanted to encourage PvP in standard you should empower alliances. Right now alliances and groups can't team up on the offensive, meaning the larger players dominate in both firepower and initiative. If smaller alliances could work to together to fight larger ones, then the game would become more fun for smaller players, and pvp would increase! I think theres something called ACS attack in other universes and that could be implemented here.
I would like to know if anyone is aware why this hasn't happened yet?

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#13cause evidently --- Zorg doesn't want it,
like I posted
why not take the best of all the different variations of this game
that are played on the internet;
and combine them into Zorg Empire
and this server would be 3-4 times the player base as it is now,
and inactive players would not be a concern,
if Zorg doesn't act soon, this server will go the same way as the site I used to play on,
"dead" eventually there wasn't 200 active players,
90 % of the player base went long term or permanent Vac mode,
I put my acct in Vac mode and came here
Hopefully Zorg will wake up to the obvious soon else it be too late,

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#14The admin replied, "What is not healthy for the game will be removed." May I inquire as to what is healthy for the game? I like what Pein mentioned, "Some players just like to build." If that is the case why not let them do as they please? If they like to farm inactives, and like to be food for the bigger players, then so be it, right?
Buzzard, you have some strong opinions. Name a few good ideas you have, from other servers. By the way, we don't want our admin looking the other way because we can't be friendly. Thank you again for sharing.

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#15ZE Admin seem to be determined to change the nature of the game - well why not just start a new server with no in actives at all? You talked before about trying out a more rigorous deletion system in Massacre - how did that work out? Personally I am not seeing any great improvement there.
Does deleting inactives make more contact between actives? I don't see any difference in my play or among others that I know. We already hit the active targets if there is any profit in it. There just aren't all that many targets. The idea that you can suddenly 'farm' actives is over-simplistic. Players already do that where it is possible, but if the duet cost exceeds the gain then there is no point.
Overall the changes alter the whole game, making a mining style more profitable and a raiding style less so. That's ok, but it's a bit unfair on newbies who didn't get a chance (like I did) to build up good mines using the good raiding of the past months. It makes no obvious difference to a fleeting style except indirectly by starving the whole 'eco-system' leading to fewer new players to hit.
So if you want to do it, can I urge/plead/beg you to stop doing mass 'culls' of inactives and instead delete them gradually. That way a player who starts now has the same chance as a player 6 months ago did to build up by raiding inactives.
Also, you should listen to the PB. I agree with most of the player comments here. The idea of a sliding scale is a good one - because players who put more time and effort in the game have longer before they are deleted - ZE can reward the contribution they made by showing more patience, and it much more likely that they will come back and play. The zero pt inactives will not come back, and even if they did they haven't lost anything, so they could be deleted immediately. They are useless clutter wasting space and nobody wants them around for more than a week or two! Thank you.

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#16totally agree with impachik, raiding is the only hope new players have to catch up with big guys.
top players have more chance of hitting big active targets since they have a bigger fleet, give smallers ones a chance to build a fleet and compete !

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#17Something like this has happend before as some of the older players here will remember. I by no means speak for everyone at all, but WE are your customers Zorg. If you try to impose things we dont want there will be a decrease in activity. I'll use --- for my example. The company didnt listen to the players who just wanted minor updates done to the system a few bugs corrected more tools ect... Instead a merger of servers a mass deletion of accounts some active most inactive and a whole new GUI and display system that quite frankly ***** in the ammount of lag it takes to load for a browser game was forced on us. Even under protest and the trial server dying it was implemented against our wishes. I like this game a lot. In contrast though if the customer isn't met the game fails, maby not fast, but in time.
It might have been a BAAAA idea...
Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#18on a side note, i guess a mod should move this to "general game discussion " now..

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#19Deleting inactives have now driven me and several members of my alliance to do something very boring, which is to do relatively nothing. This has affected about three of my officers as well because my alliance has always been built up upon raiding. Most of us find it to be the most enjoyable aspect of this game.
I have been a serious raider for two years. It took two years of raiding with no major fleet crashes to catch up with the bigger fleeters, I have enjoyed raiding and being in the habit of looking for treasure every day. However with less and less resources around to find I do not rush home from work to look for extra resources anymore, nor do I decide to wake up a little earlier to send out fleets like I used to.
I guess I just want to urge you guys to consider if deleting inactives is really best for the game, galaxy 1 is nearly empty now, it is sort of sad.

Re: Deleting Inactive Accounts
#20I still think dropping 0 point accounts as part of deleting older inactives that actually have some buildings is funny.
Inactives are a problem... we need to get rid of them. Ok let's make more inactives so that we offset the ... inactives... we just deleted.
Yeah, that makes sense.
The only purpose this serves is giving some really poor (and uninteresting) "food" for noobs. There is no sense of reward for exploration.... everyone is either active and probably bigger or all the feeder accounts which have the same production rate.
Let's not mention if you get crashed then you have to rely that much more on rebuilding from your mine output. I really don't see it helping at all
