I'm still a little new to this game, so I was wondering, I was told by the person who's alliance I am now in that if I did not join said alliance he, or she, would by use of his, or her, death stars destroy all of my planets. At the time I had no reason to doubt this was possible, but now that I am starting to learn the game, and have descovered the tech tab, I am staring to wonder. Any insight would be great.

Death stars can destroy moons, but not planets.

Indeed, he cannot destroy your planets, it is impossible. To say such a thing to get members into your alliance is despicable. Your leader should be hunted and smashed relentlessley in my opinion.
