get another planet

hi
i have 2 colony ships.
what have i to do for colonizing a planet?
what planets CAN i colonize?
Should i simply attack with this ships?
Can i colonize a planet that are owned by another player?

Any open system slot (as shown in the Galaxy screen in the Empire Menu).
Should i simply attack with this ships?
Only if you want to lose them. Colony ships die terribly easy.
Can i colonize a planet that are owned by another player?
No.

If you look at the system shown in the Galaxy map you'll see that there are 15 fields (slots) for planets. Your planet's name will show in red. Any fields that aren't occupied can be colonized.

cool i have my sec. planet
ähm, what it means under the pic of the planet "non-active"? his is on both planets

means currently nothing is being built under "buildings"
