when you click on the empire view it shows you the current amount of res on each planet. the number before the (#)/# is the total amount of that particular res but what is the second number, i checked it against my production rate but it doesn't match. =(

It should match your hourly production in the resource page

unless i'm looking at something different or doing something wrong, it doesn't match any figure anywhere, and another thing... the production figures stated in the resources tab are hourly?

are you looking at the total hourly production?I just tryed this and the second number is equal to the total amount of hourly production on the respective planet and type of res.

On Xtreme it matches hourly production. On Standard, the second number matches nothing, just as stated.
And yes, it is hourly production.

Your right the second number does not match anything in res view. ive been trying to work it ou for weeks. on my main planet i have 222,000 metal, at a production rate of 2500 or so an hour. in my empire view under metal it says : 222,000/5554. WHATS THE 5554?!?!?!?!?!?!?
