1) My solar satellites produce 13 energy units each according to the research production screen. Is that all I am ever going to get out of them because it does not seem like much. How to increase satellite energy production?
2) I am currently operating with my energy needs at -9/936 (100% production on all except metal mine at 80%). I find this preferable to the next option, which is +12/936 (by decreasing the metal output to 70%). My logic is that the excess energy would be wasted while the shortage is a very small percentage of the output of each mine. Is that valid reasoning?
Re: Questions on energy and satellites
#3I'll go with Were. Your best bet would be to build more sats. There is no reason for you to lower the persentage of production, unless the resources are just piling up too fast for you to spend. Build up more Solar Plants, though. They do create a non-destroyable (by enemies) power source, while having too many solar sats attract fleeters.
On a side note: The hotter a planet is, the more energy solar sats and plants produce.

#4temperature doesn't affect solar plants, only satellitesacewoonder wrote:I'll go with Were. Your best bet would be to build more sats. thanks for the awesome sig surrias <3

Re: Questions on energy and satellites
#6Still mildly confused why solar satellites produce so little energy unless one builds a lot of them . . . BUT . . . I have now built more of them so everything is producing at 100% and my energy needs are +1
Thanks all
Thanks all
Re: Questions on energy and satellites
#7Look at the comparative costs of the sats and the solar plant, though. Eventually, sats are way more efficient

#8and a good stradigie is to build fusion power but set it to 0%. when some rag-tag fleeter comes along and attacks you and you have no sat. turn on the fuzion power!!!! and that should keep you alive untill you rebiuld all your sat.

Re: Questions on energy and satellites
#9Solar sats stay the same price of resources no matter how many points you have or how many you build. Solar plants and fusion reactors end up costing a crap load of res. I stress 'crap load'.

#10Solar Plant (Level 31)
The solar power plants convert heat and light energy into electrical energy. All productive buildings need energy to work.
Resources Needed : Metal: 21.571.994 Crystal: 8.628.797
For an increase of 3.225
