Questions on energy and satellites

#1
1) My solar satellites produce 13 energy units each according to the research production screen. Is that all I am ever going to get out of them because it does not seem like much. How to increase satellite energy production?

2) I am currently operating with my energy needs at -9/936 (100% production on all except metal mine at 80%). I find this preferable to the next option, which is +12/936 (by decreasing the metal output to 70%). My logic is that the excess energy would be wasted while the shortage is a very small percentage of the output of each mine. Is that valid reasoning?

I'll go with Were. Your best bet would be to build more sats. There is no reason for you to lower the persentage of production, unless the resources are just piling up too fast for you to spend. Build up more Solar Plants, though. They do create a non-destroyable (by enemies) power source, while having too many solar sats attract fleeters.

On a side note: The hotter a planet is, the more energy solar sats and plants produce.

temperature doesn't affect solar plants, only satellites
thanks for the awesome sig surrias <3

Solar sats stay the same price of resources no matter how many points you have or how many you build. Solar plants and fusion reactors end up costing a crap load of res. I stress 'crap load'.
