Re: Expedition Technology

I've expieremented a little with it at level 1 getting lots of sucked into black hole messages.
now I got level 11 it seems to be less ending in a disaster.
Ofcouse it still could be possible i'm just more lucky now :D

- but one sure benefit is being able to send more expeditions at the same time.

anyway i still think its to risky, usual u get 10% increase of your fleet you send, at the chance to loose like 70% or more ....

Feels a bit like gambling.

imagine sending ure 600 rips for a gamble on 60 free rips more.....

There are several things i found so far that can happen on an expedition are:

• Nothing, don't even find alien droppings. Your fleet flies out there and returns home with nothing to show for it’s journey except some good pictures of a super nova
• You find resources on a inhabited planet and bring as much you can carry home.
• Your fleet finds some perfectly good ships floating around and bring them back.
• Your fleet disappears into a black hole never to be seen from again.

The amount expeditions allowed is not the same as your computer tech. which is something that makes this mission different than other missions. It is based on the square root of your Expedition level. For example lvl 1 = 1 fleet, lvl 4 = 2 fleets, lvl 9 = 3 fleets, etc.
You do use fleet a slot also

Apparently we are in agreement. Expedition is not worth it. Do not use expeditions if you want to keep your fleet... at least if you get crashed, we might get to hear a fun story ;)

Yeah, I was experimenting with this. Usually I only sent 4-10 small cargos, though. I believe that the number of times that I have written down was 29 expiditions. (Before I went into vacation mode). I was gonna get about 50 before I really said anything. I've gotten 11 pictures of super novas, 12 black holes and 6 findings of perfect ships. I've never found any resources.

I don't see what the big deal of expedion is, though.
