Missile Silo description

Hello everybody,
I built some missile silos and recognised a line in the description of the Silos that seems to be wrong, or at least irritating
It says: "
Each Silo level, also increases your IPMs range by 5 systems." But when I checked the range of the IMPs from different planets with different levels of Missile Silos, there's no difference in range at all. It's only influenced by the lvl. of the Impuls engine (so far I know)....so what's it all about ?

You increase the level of your silo at any given world, the range increases for that world only. That reference is in relation to that world, the world where you have just increased the silo level.
It follows in the same vein as for instance Metal Mines. You increase the level of a metal mine at a particular world, production increases there but not anywhere else.
Missile silos are structures, structures for that world not another.

Actually, oz, increasing your missile silo level won't increase the distance the IPMs can travel even for that planet.
This has been a point of frustration for me too. The description is just inaccurate and needs changing. It turns out that the only way to increase the range of IPMs is to increase your level of impulse engine tech. All increasing your missile silos does is increase storage capacity; it won't increase the distance your IPMs can travel even though the description seems to suggest it will.

Ok, Pulsar. That's what I wanted to know. Frustrating, right. But thx a lot !

Pulsar is right. Impulse tech increases the range. Now the question is which is the right way to go here? Impulse Tech or Missile Silo?
I think Missile Silo sounds more reasonable. I will put it on a discussion.

So, again. We read something and it's different then it actually says.
Goes to prove certain points then, does it not? With reference to certain descriptions and other things, these things need to be re-written, not changed, just amended to read better?

Missle solo upgrades would make it easy to get very long ranged missles, compared to impulse engine upgrades. If you want to make it easy for people to barrage with missles, then I'd go with missle solo upgrades. If you want to make it harder, than impulse engine (as that's more expensive than upgrading missle solos.)
