First i would like to say I did search for the awnser to my question. And if this is a repost I am sorry...
k I understand that X amount of debris creats X amount of percentage for a moon and whatnot but does a 16mil res DF creat a bigger moon then a 2mil res Df that has the same amount of likely % basicly is a 1% chance of a moon smaller than a 20% and after 20% does it still have a chance to be larger?
Re: moon size?(not formation)
#2makes sense, but i have no idea if it is true.

Re: moon size?(not formation)
#3I think the question your asking is what size will the moon be based on the DF percentages? When a moon is created it will only have one field on it no matter how big the DF was you have that one field so you can build a lunar base on your moon and expand your fields on it.

Re: moon size?(not formation)
#4He means the diameter of the moon, not field size.
I've wondered the same thing. I got a 20% (I had a 2 mil DF, almost exactly) and my moon is like 7k or so, which seems to be the average size.

#5It doesnt matter what diamater the moon size is your only going to start off with one field.

Re: moon size?(not formation)
#6We know. He is just wanting to know how the diameter is determined.
And I could be wrong, but doesn't moon size (Diameter) play a role in moon destruction chances?

Re: moon size?(not formation)
#7urwierd thats what i was asking because you would think bigger means better as far as moons.
btw do i need to use terraformers to expaind my fields on a moon

Re: moon size?(not formation)
#8A smaller chance percentage produces a smaller moon. More debris used to create the larger chance creates a larger moon but it maxes out around 8300K regardless of the chance percentage/debris size.
Yes, a smaller moon is easier to destroy than a larger one.
Lunar bases are required to create building fields on a moon. I don't believe you can build a terraformer on a moon and to do so would be pointless owing to the limited number of maximum fields.

#9yeah its unfortunate we cant make nanites on moons

I think moon size is completely random. Every moon anyone has ever gotten from me came from a 20% chance, and they've ranged from 2.3k diameter to over 8k.
