Most effective defence?

Hey guys :D

Right where to start. . . since my return to ZE I have taken on a different approach to playing the game. I have changed from a fleeter to basically a safe & easy miner turtle.

Now considering my position I don't have much of a knowledge about this style of play. I have had a few tips off my alliance members but was wondering what other suggestions there may be.

Considering the implementation of RF & the up coming addition of techs making defences stronger I am curious to know what the most effective stratedy would be to thwart those pesky fleeters.

So far it seems that LL, shields & a plasma would be the best bet, but will that be the same for the future?

It obviously depends on what your going up against, but I like spamming ions. This is the best way to get 0-losses. And of course 1 of everything else. Putting a few guass behind it will give you a nice bit of damage too. However, LL do the most damage per cost and aren't a bad choice for a shell.

Zookon, don't worry about no-loss an attacker, they won't be dumb enough to launch if they'll lose. Get that damage fired on 1st round as much as possible, because 1st rd is where attackers worry about. If you can't break shields 1st round you are screwed rest of the way. Spam LL for damage, one of each def, 1 esp probe, Lf, HF LC etc (not rip, too much df) and rf can be kept off some defensive units for a 2nd rd hit. Don't leave res and you'll be good. :P
