#2Planet size is measured by the number of fields (slots) it has. We all start with a 163 field planet. Some have been reported to be as large as 476 fields and some are just plain rocks.
The only way to increase the number of fields on a planet is to purchase the Terraformer. I believe it adds 10 additonal fields to a planet.
However, it much more cost effective in the long term to simply shop for larger field colonies and destroy those with less than 300 fields.
