I tried searching for this, but search ignores moon. I know about the 50 threads, but that's a bit daunting to go through, with no assurance I'd find the answer after spending hours looking through all the threads. So hopefully some kind person will answer here.
If I want to work with someone to get a few moons, and he/she doesn't need moons in return (the easiest 'deal'), can I pay resources in return for the potential moon-making attacks, assuming the other player is stronger than me, or does that run afoul of the 'sending resources to a stronger player' rule?
If it does run afoul of the rule, does anyone have a suggestion other than giving rubies (which I can't afford.. if I could, I'd just buy my moons).
thanks in advance.
Re: trading to get moon?
#3Ok, I'll go through them till I find an answer.
I must add, however, that I don't understand the attitude here. I've played extensively in a number of online games, becoming quite knowledgeable in a couple of them (both as a player and moderator). I understand the common desire not to repeat information over and over, but generally there is a way to access the answers to frequenty asked questions easily. But not here. The search function rarely is adequate (as in this case.. 'moon' can't even be searched); there is no in-game chat, only the separate chat program here in the forum; and the game procedures are nowhere spelled out by the admins (thought that is not uncommon).
I find simply giving a list of 50 links to be callous. When I have the time, and if I feel I can evaluate all those links knowledgeably enough, I'll try to make a comprehensive article (or make an annotated link list at least). But in the meantime, I'd think simply not answering, or saying one won't, is more polite that giving a list of 50 links, without even any indication of what each covers.
I don't mean to flame anyone by what I've said, though if some take it that way, I understand. I just think the method of providing help to newer players here is deficient, and the effort a number of folks put in to helping could be done much more effectively, and more helpfully.

Re: trading to get moon?
#4I think the best way would be to send an equal amount of ships anyway, even if they don't need the moon. Then you two can just pick up the DFs over your own plannets, to save time. Since you are going to pay for it anyway.
When your government says not to panic, That's when you run!

#5AS long as they pick up the debris that is created around your planet, it is within the game rules.
Greatness isn't bestowed; it's chased. And only the best catch it.

#6As I am the one who put together those 50 something links to ASSIST the new players because they seem to have a problem with using the search feature, you comment kind of upsets me. Here is the thing that happened..... we had new player after new player come in here and instead of trying to search something just slaps up a new topic question on moons (most times within a couple of posts from the last one) asking the same thing over and over. I took over 2 days going through each and every topic in the help section to find everything I could about moons. I am sorry I didn't have the time or the energy to save someone else more time reading and mark each one . Come on it isn't that hard to open a link and look at it to see if it may give you the information you need, believe me i takes a lot less time doing that than it does for you to go through EVERY post in the help section.Oloros wrote:Ok, I'll go through them till I find an answer.

Just when you thought your were in control... I proved you wrong!
Re: trading to get moon?
#7I understand the frustration with newbies asking the same questions over and over. I've experienced the same thing in games I've been knowledgeable in. I also understand that a lot of work had to go into making up for your list--in my annotated list, a work in progress, but now posted as far as it goes, I thank you for that.
As I said previoulsy, I don't mean to flame anyone (nor criticize nor belittle or whatever). I'm just trying to point out that info is hard to find here in some cases. (In other cases it isn't.. I was wondering tonight if I could undo a shipyard construction I had clicked by mistake. I searched 'shipyard queue', and found my answer immediately.)
And that's why I'm working on the annotated list. A comprehensive article would be better, but I don't feel competent to do that yet. Perhaps down the road.
