In the guide Zorg gives the following example:
"You got IPN lvl 2
You got 3 research labs. One at lvl 6, the other one at lvl 2 and the last at level 3.
The IPN will choose lvl 6 and lvl 3.
If you want to research Computer Technology, it will be like you have a lvl 9 laboratory (6 + 3)
However, if you want to research Weapons Technology, it will be like you have a lvl 6 laboratory, as the weapons technology have a minimum requirement of Level 4 Laboratory."
The requirements for IGRN are:
Intergalactic Research Network
Research Lab (Level 10)
Computer Technology (Level 8)
Hyperspace Technology (Level 8)
This may cause confusion when a players' top labs are 10, 9, 9 for example IGRN will not work no matter how high the IGRN research level is.

#3The minimum level research lab IGRN will work on is level 10 as this is the minimum to research it. Any planet with a lab below 10 cannot be included in the grouping of labs as the technology is not available to them. This is the way it works in other games and its logical.

#4This is only required till it is researched. Once it is researched, the other planets do not have to research it again. This means that the small research labs will still aid. The only limit has to do with the technology being researched.
This is how it is explained in first post and I confirm it. I took some time and did some tests right now, and indeed it works in this way.
One more example to reassure everyone understands it:
I did my testing with Espionage Technology lvl 2. I wanted to research lvl 3.
With a lvl 13 research lab, I needed 1m 01s
With a lvl 13 research lab + IRN level 2 + a lvl 10 research lab, I needed 36s
With a lvl 13 research lab + IRN level 2 + a lvl 8 research lab, I needed 39s
With a lvl 13 research lab + IRN level 2 + a lvl 3 research lab, I needed 50s
With a lvl 13 research lab + IRN level 2 + a lvl 2 research lab, I needed 1m 01s (Same as without IRN because lvl2 research lab does not count for this tech as it has a requirement of at least lvl 3 lab)
Hope this clears out everything

#5Cool. It doesnt work this way in other games, I just thought I would highlight the fact incase it caused confusion.
