Get a shipyard. Build ships. Go to galaxy. Hover your mouse over the planet. Click attack. Select ships. Send ships. Sit back and relax.

Follow up question. If you colonise a planet, then abandon it, can you re-colonise the same spot and get a different planet size?

I just colonized and then abandoned a colony with 103 fields...is that a record low?
