Re: Zorg Empire "QUIZ"!?
#32That would be a good standard to follow. any thoughts on what other factors might change the range of a ship? (hint ship speed)

Re: Zorg Empire "QUIZ"!?
#33If I remember correctly, upgrading an engine to level 10, for example, requires more deut at 100% speed than when the engine was at level 9. This would use more cargo space, which would effectively lower the range of any given ship. Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

What are the effective range of each ship types at 100% speed? That is just with the ships with 100% speed how far can u reach?

Some thoughts:
- Ship ranges are one of the base factors for the coordinates a raider would place his/her colonies around the universe. the usual custom is to place 2 colonies per galaxy and have 2-3 roomers (colonies that are temporarily placed to hunt a certain player or system zone). best practice is to have even hunting radius for ur coordinates so place them around systems [499/4=125] and [3x499/4=375]. which give u exactly 125 hunting radius on both side of ur colonies. take that as a guidance only.
- Also these answers and explanations gives u the idea of how the galaxies are placed apart from each other. a hit across same galaxy more than 183 system is more profitable/faster if u do i across galaxy cause its closer that way.

Trivia Date: April 23, 2011How to find if a player is online or not? I am looking for all the ways u can find it
PS: there is a possibility of a great reward at the end of season.

Re: Zorg Empire "QUIZ"!?
#35Well for starters, you could go into chat and see if they're on. OR, you could send 50 different probe missions at one of their planets and make them message you. Then there's always the hard way, where you stalk them and find out their online times. Anyway is good really.

#36Chat, check....PM, check...
You forgot the timer on the galaxy screen that shows activity (but can be misleading, since probes and attacks from others will initiate the timer, as well as other events that occur when the player is offline)
Lanx may be useful too for detecting short attacks or transports
Probe a planet / planets at intervals to see if there is any ship movement or drop in resources
Not sure of any others, but will edit this post if any come to mind.
EDIT - Additions:
You can view the online status of alliance mates
You can also view the online status of players on your Friend List

Re: Zorg Empire "QUIZ"!?
#37Here's my entire online checker (Not in order)
1. Chat: check if they are there
2. Forums: same check at the bottom of the board index to see online players
3. Activity next to their planets: you are looking for a * as this shows activity is taking place
4. Friend list: If you have them added check the online column
5. Alliance member list: If you have the right, check the online column
6. Attack them on another planet and await a response: They will generally message you
7. Probe them on another planet and await a response: They will generally probe you
8. Message them: depending on what you say expect either, a flaming response/ a nice message/ a message that their favorite color is actually green and not blue as you guessed
9.Online times: check that the time is not their usual playing time and they will likely to be offline
10. Lanx: short times means they are likely to be online
11. My favorite: If you are attacking them, send two attacks, and an espionage mission to arrive a second after the first attack. Recall the first attack a second or two before the attack and look at the espionage report.
If anything drastic has changed they are online and if not they are not online and you let the second attack strike.

Re: Zorg Empire "QUIZ"!?
#38a very well thought checklist for tracing online times for a player ... but all involves a player deliberately showing off activity. how about something more concrete other than player response... or something that do not involve giving away the fact that u are trying to trace out whether a player is online or not.... for example if in chat room u find a player he also sees u that u are online. if u are probing something it is eminent that he is being checked out by you.
any ideas how to go incognito on a hunt for online times? brainstorm time ppl use the hints well

Re: Zorg Empire "QUIZ"!?
#39You can always check either the scoreboard or rankings list at score updates to see if they had their fleet down or are continuously shifting in points. Also, you can freak them out by sending them a picture of you dressed up as a goron.

#40Nice answers so far, except that dreadful picture idea of Pup's.
Here are some other options...
Get another player to probe the target.
Get another player to send PM to see if they respond.
Ask someone that is in the target's alliance if they are online.
You can also view all the message history of the target on the forum to calculate when they are online. Then you can guesstimate when they are offline.
