Answers:
  • Each drive upgrade increases the corresponding ship's speed that has that drive installed by a certain % by the base speed.
  • They are also requirements for 1 research tech and several ship units.
  • The effect of faster ships has a direct proportion to fuel consumption of affected ships. altho if slowed down to previous 100% the upgrade runs to ship cheaper.
  • Missing information was
    One of the drive upgrade increases the range of your IPM (Interplanetary Missiles)

What is the difference between blind lanx and half blind lanx hits?

Half blind you have the mid-point of fleet (arrival time) and can easily just add the fleet time on to get the return time. Blind phalanx you need to use a window off the approx time they FSd and then check your indicator. You have no midpoint of other information. When your indicator goes, (ie DF disappears) you time that as though it was the mid-point.

Some thoughts:
  • Few things you need to know before going for any blind hits. Defender engine drive levels the time it takes for the slowest ship in that fleet to go at 100% - 10% all different speed. and the coordinates.
  • You also need a tool so that u dont have to recalculate all that every time.

Pup is correct on what a zero loss hit it.

A zero loss hit can be accomplished three ways.

1. Attack a planet/moon that has no defenses/ships.
2. Send exactly what is needed to defeat the defenses/ships.
3. Send more than enough ships to defeat the defenses/ships.

A zero loss is created when the attacking ships have the required armour and shield values to prevent the ships from being destroyed during the attack.

This depends on the yours and the defenders fleet composition and the defenses defending the planet.

Also the weapons tech (also plasma tech in xtreme) of both your fleet and the defenders are factors that can affect a zero loss hit.

Some thoughts:
  • A zero loss hit ensures that your fleet is not hurt in any way. To calculate it you need to match the defenders attack points with your attacking fleets "Individual" Shield totals. That is if you are sending 2 types of ships in a fleet then each of your ship compositions should have enough shields by themselves to withstand first round of attack from the defender.
  • If you are up against a shielded defensive array (IONs+Domes) then you have to make sure that your total attack point is enough to penetrate the shields and in the end wins at the last round. Else you get a tie.

What are the effective range of each ship types at 100% speed? That is just with the ships with 100% speed how far can u reach?
